N1 Prime

We’re introducing N1 Prime, our answer to the question we’ve focused on since launching the exchange: what will make N1 the leading place to trade?

Today, almost every new exchange is still trying to win by doing the same things as everyone else, just a little differently. They launch a familiar product with a few extra features and a new incentive campaign, hoping that enough rewarded activity will eventually produce liquidity comparable to the leading venues. This may give traders a reason to try the product, but leaves them with very few reasons to stay in the long term. In the end, users pay real trading costs for the promise of a better market that never arrives, and leave as soon as the campaign ends to trade on a new venue.

N1 Prime is our solution to that. N1 Prime is a step-wise innovation to liquidity provisioning. N1 Prime will provide liquidity in a way that no other major platforms currently can. Over time, N1 Prime is going to enable deeper liquidity than any other major exchanges combined.

As Prime supports liquidity in established markets, more capital and development effort will go toward creating unique products only available on our platform. That will give traders more reasons to bring their activity to N1 and help us grow our own flow. Prime will combine that flow with liquidity across other venues to make N1 the most liquid place to trade.

Delivering this is our number one development priority, and we’ll roll Prime out in stages so users can benefit as soon as possible. We plan to enable several accounts to use it for liquidity provision in the coming weeks, starting with a few leading exchanges and a focused set of markets. As the infrastructure matures, we’ll open access to more traders and build on it with new features.

N1 Prime is a turning point for liquidity innovation in the exchange space, and executing well on it means not just significant improvements to execution quality for traders, but also enabling deeper liquidity across long tail markets and enabling markets that still don’t even exist today due to capital constraints.

We’ll be sharing more updates soon, along with documentation on the implementation. We’re excited for what comes next!
